The High School and Labor Market Administration is responsible for labor market initiatives, financial assistance, receiving newcomers and quota refugees, as well as high school, adult education, and summer internships.

Our Construction and Civil Engineering program is industry-recommended by the Construction Industry's Professional Board (BYN). The certification means that the education maintains high quality and that the collaboration with the industry is strong and vibrant. Students are trained in the school's own workshops and also have APL at companies, which provides a close connection to working life. We are now looking for a dedicated and competent vocational teacher in painting who wants to help further develop our painting program in line with industry requirements and Gy25.

About the position

In the role of vocational teacher, you are responsible for planning, implementing, and following up on teaching in painting, both theoretical and practical elements. You work closely with the students and contribute to building their professional identity, responsibility, and professional approach. The position also includes close collaboration with colleagues and the labor market, particularly related to APL and apprenticeship training in grades 2 and 3.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and implement teaching in accordance with the Swedish National Agency for Education's governing documents (Gy25), where theory, practice, and professional ethics are intertwined.
• Be responsible for procurement, planning, follow-up, and quality assurance of APL placements and establish and maintain good contacts with employers and the industry.
• Actively contribute to developing and strengthening the painting direction in close collaboration with colleagues and industry representatives, focusing on the students' learning and future employability.
• Participate in program development, teamwork, and the school's quality work.

About you

We are looking for someone who has a vocational teacher's degree in the Construction and Civil Engineering program with a specialization in painting or equivalent professional experience/competence. We expect you to have good knowledge of both practical and theoretical aspects of the painting profession, as well as good industry knowledge and understanding of the labor market's demands. We also see that you have experience (or interest) in working with young people and preferably have an established network within the painting industry. As a person, we believe you are confident in your professional skills, relationship-building, and a clear leader who is structured, responsible, and flexible. You are creative and development-oriented, as well as a team player who enjoys collaborating. Personal suitability is highly valued.
